Summary of Action at Executive Board Conference Call on November 2, 2005

The following people attended the conference call: 12 Executive Board members, Executive Director Stephan Hienzsch, and staff member Lisa Howard.

Terry Wilson made a motion, seconded by Gaye McCabe, to nominate Brentina for the 2005 US Equestrian Horse of the Year. Each US Equestrian breed/discipline affiliate organization has been asked to nominate a horse for this prestigious award. Motion carried unanimously.

Sue Hughes made a motion, seconded by Terry Wilson, to nominate Janine Malone to serve a four-team term on the US Equestrian Board of Directors, beginning in January 2006. As the designated US Equestrian affiliate organization for dressage, USDF is entitled to representation on the USEF Board of Directors. Motion carried. Janine abstained from voting.

Terry Wilson made a motion, seconded by Sandi Bishop, to approve the reappointment of 8 council chairmen and 14 committee chairmen for 2006. Motion carried unanimously.

Fern Feldman made a motion, seconded by Linda Landers, to change the dates of the 2006 Spring Executive Board meeting to Saturday, April 22 through Monday, April 24. The reason for the change is to enable Board members to attend the April 21 ribbon-cutting ceremony at the USDF National Education Center. A US Equestrian dressage judges clinic and the Kentucky Horse Park symposium will also be held during that time period.

Motion carried. One opposed and one abstention.

Terry Wilson made a motion, seconded by Sandi Bishop, to hold the Saturday, December 3 Executive Board meeting at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. After the meeting, Board members will be able to attend the USDF national symposium. Motion carried unanimously.
